Linda Izan – Meet the Artist

A little textile inspiration from my YouTube Textile Collection. Today it features textile art by artist Linda Izan.

Linda is a conceptual visual artist. Her work involves many techniques including digital art, photography & embroidery. Linda uses photograms & Photoshop to design her unique cloth. Each piece is then embellished with layers of applique, hand & machine embroidery. Linda explains her design concepts and shares her beautiful work with us.

Aran Illingworth – Meet the Artist

A little textile inspiration from my YouTube Textile Collection. Today it features moments in time, captured in stitch by artist Aran Illingworth.

Aran’s stunning portraits, document the lives of women and children. Images from India and beyond. Her large realistic artworks comprise of real garments and hand-stitch. Aran carefully sources up-cycled clothing, saris and shawls for each piece. 

“Fractured Memories” depicting Dementia, was exhibited with The Society for Embroidered Work in 2019.

Aran is a member of Prism Textiles, The Society for Embroidered Work and the Society for Design Craftsmen

A Member of The Society for Embroidered Work

I’m delighted to announce that I’ve been accepted as a member of The Society for Embroidered Work for my Hand Embroidery. 

I share my work under the name Catherine Hill Textile Artist on Instagram and Facebook.

S.E.W. support some of the finest textile artists from across the world. Promoting ‘Stitched Art is Art’ #stitchedartisart  It’s a real honour to become a member.
