Marian Jazmik – Meet the Artist

A little textile inspiration from my YouTube Textile Collection. Today it features the embroidered art of Marian Jazmik.

Marian’s work is very experimental and all her materials are sourced from discarded, reusable waste.

She stitches layer upon layer of heat treated synthetic fabrics to make some amazing textures – then embellishes these surfaces with found objects and embroidery.

Marian explains her creative processes in the video below.

Meet the Artist – Elle Foreman

A little textile inspiration from my YouTube Textile Collection. Today it features the Mark Making of Elle Foreman.

Have you thought about how to use mark making to create cloth?
Elle Foreman uses mark-making, printing & mixed-media processes to create her own cloth – from up-cycled and pre-loved fabrics – before embellishing it with hand & machine embroidery.

Elle received an The Embroiderers’ Guild – UK Graduate Award 2019.

‘The strengths and uniqueness of British contemporary embroidery is due to the fact that it is founded on drawing.‘ Diana Springall.

Filmed at Knitting & Stitching Show 2019.
