On the evening of the 7th November 2020, I found myself sitting in the UK, watching the TV and seeing events unfolding in the Trump – Biden US elections. I picked up a pencil and paper and started documenting what I saw. ‘4 hours in History’ is an observational piece of art collecting together the protests (from all parties), interviews and quotes from the day.
At the time, I was sharing lockdown with my Mum with a very limited supply of cotton cloth to stitch on. The old adage ‘necessity is the mother of invention’ was certainly true for me. After a quick rummage through the airing cupboard I discovered a well worn cotton pillowcase to embroider onto. I hope it won’t be missed.
This is the second piece I created during Lockdown 2. The first being a Self Portrait for the Beyond Knitting & Stitching Show .
