Tom of Holland is a very talented stitcher.
I had the best time yesterday at Hope & Elvis. A ‘make-do-and-mend’ retreat with the wonderful Tom of Holland and his ‘Visible Mending Programme’.
Darning and Mending
The day was filed with darning, mending and learning the finer points of Swiss Darning – a very woolly time. It was a truly enlightening workshop and gave me the opportunity to use a vintage wooden mushroom and Speedweve from my mum’s sewing box.
Tom of Holland Stitchery
Tom of Holland demonstrated darning on a darning mushroom.
The class was filled with many creative ladies including Rachelle Blondel of Ted and Agnes and the delightful Lemonade Kitty.
Louise had kindly laid on the most delicious spread of soups and goodies to keep us all going, laid out on her beautiful vintage china.
The Hope & Elvis studio is a joy to behold. I find a day at Hope & Elvis a complete retreat from the distractions of the outside world and always leaves me with my creative batteries recharged. Thank you Tom and Louise for a superb day.
I consider myself very fortunate to have such a lovely "job" I get to share time with lovely, lovely people..thank you for coming and making it special x
It was a joy, as always, to visit your Studio.
Hello, just found your lovely blog. Didn't we have fun that day learning new skills and sewing with like minded people, I'm off to H&E in June for the Jessie Chorley workshop. X
I am on that class too! See you there. X
