Textile Portraits Book by Anne Kelly

I’m pleased to announce that my hand embroidery ‘Headspace – Self Portrait’ has been published in a new book – Textile Portraits by Anne Kelly.

Textile Portraits Book by Anne Kelly is available to purchase via this Amazon Link.

Anne contacted me in Autumn 2021, with an invitation to include my hand stitched ‘Self Portrait’ in a new book she was about to write. Of course I was delighted and accepted.

The artwork had previously been on show in the ‘Self Portrait’ exhibition at the Knitting and Stitching Show in 2021.

I’m thrilled with the published book. Thank you to Anne Kelly for inviting me to take part.

Prism Textiles

I’m pleased to announce that I’ve been accepted as a member of the very prestigious Prism Textiles Group. I’ve visited the exhibitions for many years and always aspired to be a member.

As part of my Prism application I submitted several artworks including Summer 2022.

Each year the group holds an exhibition at Mile End Pavilion, London and I’m looking forward to taking part in the 2024 Edgelands exhibition.

To mark Calderdale’s Year of Culture in 2024, the theme of this year’s exhibition is the landscape, people, history, and heritage of Calderdale.

My father worked as a builder renovating old farm buildings in the area around Todmorden in Calderdale. I’m honoured to have this artwork in the exhibition.

Sitting with my artwork – 2nd place

I’m chuffed to bits and in complete awe at the curation of this stunning exhibition – of the 87 pieces on display, I counted four pieces of beautiful textile artwork.

Thank you to curator Eli Dawson and the judges Paul Bartram of @theyorkshiregallery, Alice Bradshaw alicebradshaw.co.uk and Dr Joanna Neil (Course Leader for the BA (Hons) Fine Art at Leeds Arts University) for the award.

I can heartily recommend a visit and there’s also a visitors choice award so please vote for your favourite work.
