Aran Illingworth – Meet the Artist

A little textile inspiration from my YouTube Textile Collection. Today it features moments in time, captured in stitch by artist Aran Illingworth.

Aran’s stunning portraits, document the lives of women and children. Images from India and beyond. Her large realistic artworks comprise of real garments and hand-stitch. Aran carefully sources up-cycled clothing, saris and shawls for each piece.

“Fractured Memories” depicting Dementia, was exhibited with The Society for Embroidered Work in 2019.

Aran is a member of Prism Textiles, The Society for Embroidered Work and the Society for Design Craftsmen
